0 Review of Mr Popper's Penguin's

Chill out with the funniest family comedy of the year! Jim Carrey stars as Tom Popper, a successful businessman who’s clueless when it comes to the really important things in life...until he inherits six “adorable” penguins, each with its own unique personality. Soon Tom’s rambunctious roommates turn his swank New York apartment into a snowy winter wonderland — and the rest of his world upside-down. Adapted from the award-winning classic children’s book, Mr. Popper’s Penguins is a cool blast of fun for all ages! (taken for amazon.com)

I just love Jim Carey and him as Tom Popper in Mr Popper Penguins was no different. I feel as though this movie teaches young and old alike to slow down and really get to know each other because its the greatest gift that we can give each other. Not only is this movie funny and heart warming all through out the movie it is also educational as it teaches us hoe penguins live together and mate.

And just for the occasion of the release of Mr. Popper's Penguins on DVD Penguin Science  partnered with 20th Century Fox  for the release, joining forces with its Penguin Postcard Initiatives and naming real life penguins in Antarctica after those in the film!

So if you are looking for a heart warming, funny educational film for a last minute Christmas gift I encourage you to check out MR. Popper's Penguins.

You can buy it at Amazon.

I got  a review copy of this movie for my honest opinion for 20th Century Fox.

1 Night Of The Living Dead Christian by Matt Mikalatos Blog tour

Night of the Living Dead Christian by Matt Mikalatos

What does a transformed life actually look like?
In his follow-up to the critically acclaimed Imaginary Jesus, Matt Mikalatos tackles this question in an entertaining and thought-provoking way—with MONSTERS!!! While Christians claim to experience Christ’s resurrection power, we sometimes act like werewolves who can’t control our base desires. Or zombies, experiencing a resurrection that is 90 percent shambling death and 10 percent life. Or vampires, satiating ourselves at the expense of others. But through it all we long to stop being monsters and become truly human—the way Christ intended. We just can’t seem to figure out how.

Night of the Living Dead Christian is the story of Luther, a werewolf on the run, whose inner beast has driven him dangerously close to losing everything that matters. Desperate to conquer his dark side, Luther joins forces with Matt to find someone who can help. Yet their time is running out. A powerful and mysterious man is on their trail, determined to kill the wolf at all costs . . .

By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Night of the Living Dead Christian is a spiritual allegory that boldly explores the monstrous underpinnings of our nature and tackles head-on the question of how we can ever hope to become truly transformed

My Thoughts

When I hear about  books that talk about transforming from a non christian to becoming a christian I have to admit I almost always cringe. This is because a lot of times I feel that the author "brow beats"the subject to death , with so much of the christian lingo that it sometimes scares a non christian away because they just don't understand the lingo. I feel like sometimes that in itself scares people away from Christainy.

So when I saw that Matt Mikalatos wrote a book like Night of the Living Dead Christian I had to jump at the chance to be able to review it . I just love the way that Mikalatos used a subject matter that is so relative in today's social scene such as zombies, werewolves and vampires to explain why  the transformation of becoming a christian is so important. In my opinion this was the smart way to go, because when you talk about such a important subject in such a way that one can understand. It gives  you  a better chance of reaching people with the message that you want to tell them.

I have many family members that are not Christians and I would not hesitate to give them Night Of The Living Dead Christian by Matt Mikalatos and would have no doubt that it would answer some of their questions as well as open a new dialogue between them and I.
